Life is full of beautiful moments. There is a lot to be thankful for. Today was an especially wonderful day. My son gave an outstanding talk for his mission homecoming. My son-in-law blessed our granddaughter and did a great job. The spirit was strong today.
Days like today put this life into the proper perspective. I used to think we are on this earth to be financially successful, to have an amazing career, and to see how far up the ladder we could climb. Sure, that stuff makes life a bit more bearable, but it isn't why we're here.
God and family are the top priority. Everything else is just icing on the cake. Sometimes the icing is very thin but the cake should be good and yummy.
So no matter what life brings, no matter if we don't have the icing, we can control how the cake is baked. Ridiculous metaphor, I know, but you get the point. Let's bake this cake because we can. We have the ingredients.
