The road to eternal happiness depends on lifelong conversion to the truths of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Lifelong conversion means that we endure to the end, remaining firm in our commitment to keep the covenants we have made with God — no matter what.

What catches my attention in this quote is the fact that he says "lifelong conversion". I've always thought conversion to be a singular event, a one-and-done situation.
So this can be read two ways. One, lifelong could be, a conversion that lasts your entire life. Meaning, it is a singular event but it's effects and commitnents and blessings last for the rest of your life.
Or , two, it's a conversion that takes place again and again as you walk through this life. So, there is a recommitment and rededication almost daily every time a day starts.
To me, it's probably a combination of the two meanings....once we are converted, then we feel it's effects for the rest of our lives, but there is a daily recommitment and rededication to continue feeling those effects and blessings.
