When the love of God sets the tone for our own lives, for our relationships to each other and ultimately our feeling for all humankind, then old distinctions, limiting labels, and artificial divisions begin to pass away, and peace increases.
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, "The Greatest Possession", General Conference, October 2021
I still struggle with loving those in the world that are trying to destroy my freedoms, and my way of life, even my very life itself. I struggle with defending myself and my family but yet still love those I'm defending against. How am I supposed to do that?
The only perfect Example of that love that we are all commanded to show and genuinely give, is a Man that passed through what I can only partially understand and yet He still loved the very people trying to hurt Him and kill Him...all while going through and sacrifing Himself to save those very souls eternally, even all our souls.

I know that the more I love my Heavenly Father, the more I'll love my neighbors. It's a "cause and effect" situation. Jesus Christ loved and loves His Father so perfectly and purely, that love encompasses all of us too as a result. It's not perfect love if you love something but still despise something else. The love that Christ shows and gives is perfect love.
