I invite each of us to “consider [our] ways” and “examine [ourselves], whether [we] be in the faith; [and] prove [our] own selves.” What have we learned during these recent months of lifestyle adjustments and restrictions? What do we need to improve in our lives spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually? Now is the time to prepare and prove ourselves willing and able to do all things whatsoever the Lord our God shall command us.
Elder David A. Bednar, "We Will Prove Them Herewith", General Conference, October 2020
We are at a pivotal time in life. Not only are we dealing with, wading through, even enduring the many events, situations, and crises that we see all around us, but we are faced with a decision to make.
No longer can we sit in the middle. No longer can we have one foot in the gospel but keep the other foot in Babylon. We need to decide. Make a decision.

We need to either replenish our oil supplies in our lamps as they get used up, or we need to fill up our lamps from empty or near empty altogether. The other alternative is to just forget the lamp and eat, drink, and be merry. Either way, the time to make that decision is now.
I am saying this not to put anyone on a guilt trip or sound harsh. I am saying this because I, myself, need to commit 100% and be "all in". This talk is a good wake up call for me to get prepared spiritually.
