November 8, 2021 - Somebody's Watching

We influence others every day in small and simple ways. Don’t ever believe that you do not have a profound impact or influence in this world. You do—in ways you likely do not fully understand. We should continually be thinking of how we are using our influence.

Julie L. Valentine, "A Noble Responsibility for Good", BYU Speeches, November 2, 2021

Somebody is always watching. I forget that many times as I go about my life. Mainly because I'm so focused on me...what I need to accomplish. What I need to get from the store, etc.

It's not inherently wrong to do these that need to be done each day. We all have lives and responsibilities. Things HAVE to be done and, since it has to be done according to our perspective, WE are the ones to do it or delegate it.

I often wonder how I can juggle my needs and responsibilities with helping others fulfill their needs and responsibilities. Afterall, we're all in the same boat. But it's a mentality shift that I am trying to work on. And, yet again, another thing "I" need to do. 😊

Anyway, my point is to never forget somebody is watching. They may know they are, they may not even care right away, or they may not acknowledge that they are. But, rest assured, they're watching and being influenced by us in some way, whether positively or negatively. So be mindful.
