We cannot and we must not allow ourselves to get distracted from our sacred duty. We cannot and we must not lose focus on the things that matter most.
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "We Are Doing a Great Work and Cannot Come Down", General Conference, April 2009
There are so many distractions in our world today. And some of them are so subtle and fragmented, that we don't even know we are being distracted. Satan is an expert at doing that. Afterall, he's had thousands of years to practice.

It's imperative that we stay close to the Lord and the Spirit. And not do those things that detract from Him or the Spirit, however innocent they look or however innocent our intentions. I do that too much. I justify doing something, no matter how innocent or "not bad" compared to what you see or hear out in society. Even though that something the Savior Himself wouldn't do.
I listen to a song that isn't bad but probably not something the Savior would listen to. I watch television programs and movies, that aren't bad, but probably not something the Savior would watch. In fact, He wouldn't even listen to music or watch the screen anyway. 😁
But that's the point I want to get to. To not even want to do those things. It's hard though, with technology shoved down our throats daily. Sometimes we have no choice since daily life is conducted on that technology. But we need to find a balance. We need to do what's vitally important in the eternal plan while doing what's necessary in the mortal phase of that plan.
I ask myself often...how would Christ act if He were living daily life here and now?
