As we rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ, He can help us endure our trials, sicknesses, and pain. We can be filled with joy, peace, and consolation. All that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

There are times when Christ removes our suffering and pain altogether, but most of the time we receive strength to bear that pain and suffering as well as the humility to know that without Him, it is hopeless.
It seems silly and insignificant that Christ would bother helping me through this past week. Afterall, it was a minor surgery. But, to me, it was anything but. I've had major surgery before and the recovery was not as bad as this supposed "minor" surgery.
First of all, Christ is in the details of our lives. So, if it's important and significant to me, it is to Him as well. He considers nothing as insignificant.
Secondly, I have no idea how bad my recovery could've been had Christ not stepped in to help. He gave me the strength to endure a pain that I've never experienced before. It seems ridiculous that I'm making such a big deal out of a surgery so minor. I don't say this for sympathy, my point is that I made it through and I didn't do it alone. I could not have done it alone. He was there. I can't explain adequately what it was, but He was there.
Without Him, and the support of my wife and family, it very well could've been far worse.
I haven't an idea how He manages to be there for me, and for you, and for everyone else suffering through something at the same time. But He does and He will continue to be. That's the wonder of His Atonement. One day I will understand how. Until then, I want to be on His side.
