For our safety, we must build a fortress of spirituality and protection for our very souls, a fortress that will not be penetrated by the evil one.
Elder Ronald A. Rasband, "Be Not Troubled", Deseret Book 2021
When I think of building a fortress or building a protection around me, I think of Captain Moroni in The Book of Mormon. He went about strengthening his position, strengthening what was his and, what was the nephites'.
And in their weakest fortifications he did place the greater number of men; and thus he did fortify and strengthen the land which was possessed by the Nephites. - Alma 48:9
He didn't wait to defend himself and his people until the enemy was actually attacking. Even in times of peace, he was building up the" weakest parts". So when the enemy did attack, he was prepared.
The only difference between what he was doing to protect himself and his people, was that he wasn't actively being attacked.
We are. We are being attacked by the enemy, by Satan and his minions.
It has never been more crucial that we strengthen the weakest parts in our armor. Even if those parts are being pelted, we can still strengthen them. We'll, we can't do it alone. Christ can strengthen those parts if we desire to have those parts in our armor strengthened.
