Every woman and every man who makes covenants with God and keeps those covenants, and who participates worthily in priesthood ordinances, has direct access to the power of God. Those who are endowed in the house of the Lord receive a gift of God’s priesthood power by virtue of their covenant, along with a gift of knowledge to know how to draw upon that power.
President Russell M. Nelson, "Spiritual Treasures", General Conference, October 2019
Power! This can mean a few different things to different people. Then there's "direct access to the power of God". What does that really mean?
Power of God. That is absolutely not something we can fathom, at least I don't. We don't understand the magnitude of that power. We will. Someday.
But to have direct access to that power by keeping our covenants is comforting, it's assuring, it's empowering, and it's essential.
And, it seems simple. But we know that it is anything but. However, I like to think it's not an all or nothing scenario. No, it's a ratio of the more we keep covenants, the more of God's power we have. And vice versa.
