“When righteous patterns and spiritual yearnings join, time and eternity come together. Spiritual light and life come when regular religious observance draws us closer to our Heavenly Father and our Savior, Jesus Christ. When we love the spirit and letter of the law, the things of eternity can distill upon our souls like the dews from heaven. With daily obedience and refreshing living water, we find answers, faith, and strength to meet everyday challenges and opportunities with gospel patience, perspective, and joy.”
Elder Gerrit W. Gong, “Our Campfire of Faith”, General Conference, October 2018
In talking with Elder Pullin, he loves the letter and spirit of missionary life. You can see it in his actions and behaviors. He plans on continuing to live that standard until he is re-called to service in New Zealand. It will be more of a challenge for me to follow the missionary rules than it will be for him though but I want to work through it with him.
Establishing and continuing righteous patterns through daily obedience along with our righteous desires, we will find answers and, more importantly these days, we will receive strength to meet our challenges.
Strength will come in the form of physical ability and endurance. It will come in the form of mental stability to be at peace through hard and questionable times. It will come in spiritual capability to more closely align our lives with that of Christ.
Those patterns and those desires is how we will spiritually survive these times. The great news is that when we falter in our daily observance of those patterns, we can immediately adjust course and try again.
