I try to think through what the current needs and realities of what people are facing and try to say something that would be helpful to them, all focused on the anchor that everyone needs in their life, regardless of what’s happening, and that anchor is to stay close to the Lord Jesus Christ.
President M. Russell Ballard, on being a general authority for 46 years Church News, March 27, 2022

The anchor of my life, of your life, of everyone's life, is and should be Jesus Christ. Period. No matter what is happening in the world or in society, no matter what is happening in your own life personally, and mo matter what the next person does or says....Jesus Christ is our anchor in any stormy or calm seas. That anchor will stay strong and firm and immovable.
There is no trick to a happy, peaceful, and spiritually successful life. It's not complicated. We make it so but it isn't at all.
We may or may not receive relief from our trials in this life. We may struggle physically, mentally, socially, or financially in this life. That doesn't matter in the eternal plan. What matters is learning those lessons we need to learn. We do not have to struggle spiritually, however. All we need to do is stay close to our Savior. That's it. It doesn't require intelligence, or extreme effort, or even a lot of time. It does, however, require a conscious effort to focus our thoughts and feelings, often but not always at first, on the Jesus Christ. Before long, it'll be part of who we are, our very essence, which means we are "always" remembering Him....through thought, through word, through action, and through love of others. That is the goal.
