The key to the remembering that brings and maintains testimony is receiving the Holy Ghost as a companion. It is the Holy Ghost who helps us see what God has done for us. It is the Holy Ghost who can help those we serve to see what God has done for them.

As I look back on my life, I can see how God guided me to do the things, and to make the decisions that Lori and I made, that was best for our family. I sure wasn't worthy of such guidance, but my children and wife needed those/these blessings.
I am eternally grateful for His love and for His compassion for my family, despite my ignorance and sometimes stubbornness. Who knows how or where things would have ended up if He didn't "help" in those decisions... and still is helping in decisions.
Going forward, President Nelson says we won't, not just can't, survive without the Holy Ghost guiding us and helping us to make correct decisions. We NEED the Holy Ghost with us. It's not a question of whether we can make it on our own. We cannot and will not. It's a question of whether or not we can have the companionship of the Spirit. That should be our focus.
That is the only way to survive this life.
