I've been thinking about this for a while now. This is the essence of the Plan of Happiness or the Plan of Salvation.
Knowing that there is a God, knowing that there is right and there is wrong, knowing that there is good and there is evil...is not enough.
Wanting to be a good person, wanting to choose the right, wanting to walk the straight and narrow....is not enough.
We need to apply what we know into our lives. If we know there is a God, we need to trust Him. We need to learn everything we can about Him. If we know that there is a right way to live, then that should be our plan. What's interesting is that the more we know about God and of God, the more we want to be like God.
We also need to do the things in our lives that will bring us closer to God, and His Son. Wanting to be a genuinely good person is great, but we must also BE a genuinely good person. Wanting to follow Christ is great, but we must also FOLLOW Christ.
Are we gonna falter at it even if we know that it's the right thing to do and be? Of course we will. The point is, we are trying. That's all we need to do.
