Now, what of America’s future? How can we best show our appreciation to God for these marvelous blessings of freedom, of a place where his true and everlasting gospel was restored, of the preparation and divine guidance in every event leading to that most significant event? We must remember what the Lord told the Jaredites when they were first brought to this land: “Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written."
Elder N. Eldon Tanner, "If They Will But Serve the God of the Land", General Conference, April 1976
God knows the end and the beginning. He knew why He kept this land of America from being found and populated until Christopher Columbus, albeit there were peoples here before, but not to the grand scale we know today.
He knew that the restoration of His gospel needed to take place here because of the religious freedoms provided by the Constitution. He knew of today's forecast and circumstances. He knows of tomorrow's happenings right down until Christ comes again to usher in the millennium.
He knows, He is the only one who knows. He will not let this choice land be destroyed. He will not let this great Constitution be destroyed. There are still people here that serve the God of this land, even Jesus Christ. The Constitution will come close to being wiped out but those people will make it so it remains. We know that by revelation.

One thing that I need to make sure of is that I am one of those people. I cannot assume that someone else will be faithful enough to hold on to our freedoms and rights. I need to be faithful enough to hold onto these freedoms and rights as if someone else is counting on me to do that. Because there IS someone else counting on me. Family, friends, neighbors, associates, may be looking to me for that spiritual strength. They may be looking to you also. We don't know the extent of our influence yet. Just know it has an effect. So let us live always as if someone needs our influence.
