January 8, 2022 - Love Others

I think people are concerned about the welfare and well-being of their family, of their neighbors, of God’s children. Sometimes these events — whether it’s war or a pandemic — bring about a sense of concern for others that doesn’t happen without something that would cause us to want to worry about our neighbor.

In a way, and due to a reason unknown to me, this pandemic is a tool being used to bring the world more together through love and concern one for another.

I'm not saying God had caused this pandemic or set it in motion so that we all will love each other more. But He's allowed it to play out just like He does with war and conflict, natural disaster, and civil unrest. It's a reminder of sorts. A way for Him to tell us to get our priorities right.

Just like He did in scripture, when the people began to forget Him, He allowed something to happen. He's doing that now, with the people of the world. He's telling us to remember Him. He's telling us to get our priorities right. He's telling us to repent and change and face Him.

All we can do is change ourselves. We can't make others change. But we can influence others to change for the better by our own examples.
