January 7, 2021 - Lift each other

If you define hypocrite as someone who fails to live up perfectly to what he or she believes, then we are all hypocrites. None of us is quite as Christlike as we know we should be. But we earnestly desire to overcome our faults and the tendency to sin. With our heart and soul we yearn to become better with the help of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Come, Join with Us", Ensign, November 2013

I received an email earlier today that got me thinking of the level of hypocrisy in the world today. The blatant double standards we find in society and in the government is astounding to me. I have to ask myself, is it even obvious to them?

Satan has his paws in deep for sure, to make a mind think that what is good is evil, and what is evil is good. I mean, how can someone think that way? Well, we know why it's happening. And we know that this is supposed to happen. We know, also, that it's going to get worse.

All we can do, all anyone of us should do, is love everyone, as Christ does. All we can do is work on ourselves, improve ourselves. All Christ did on earth, and still does today, is lift everyone who wanted and wants to rise to another level.

We all need each other to keep rising to another level. Even though there are those that want to pull us down a level or step on us in order to go up themselves, it doesn't work like that. Rising up in character is not the same thing as rising up in fame, or glory, or riches.

And, character is the only thing that matters. So, let's keep improving that.

"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matt 6:21
