January 10, 2020 – Be your best self

“[A]re we prepared for our journey through life? The pathway can at times be difficult. Chart your course, be cautious, and determine to study diligently, pray fervently, and live righteously.”

  1. President Thomas S. Monson, “Be Your Best Self”, General Conference, April 2009

When I was in the MTC, President Monson, then a counselor in the First Presidency, gave a talk about us “being our best selves”, much like this talk. I can remember many things about that talk, but the jist of what I took away from it is, if we are going to spend time doing something, then do the very best you can do. The Lord will make up the difference and magnify what you.

This brings to mind a saying that dad and Uncle Norm always say….”Do it once, do it nice, do it wrong, do it twice”.
