With every new day, a new dawn comes—not only for the earth but also for us. And with a new day comes a new start—a chance to begin again. Now is the best time to start becoming the person we eventually want to be.
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "The Best Time to Plant a Tree", Ensign, January 2014
Today is a great day of new starts. Regardless, "now" is the time to start new, whenever now is. There will be moments when we fall short of our expectations and sometimes, when that happens, we tend to just give in until a new day starts again. But we can't afford to do that.
In those moments when we fall, and we will, then we need to get up and work at it again, in that moment....."now". We can't justify falling by staying down on our faces. Doing that equals regret.
Even an inch a day forward is still moving forward. Two steps forward and one step back is still moving forward. The Lord doesn't concern Himself with how fast we are moving forward but whether or not we are moving forward....period.
