The question for each of us, regardless of race, is the same. Are you willing to let God prevail in your life? Are you willing to let God be the most important influence in your life? Will you allow His words, His commandments, and His covenants to influence what you do each day? Will you allow His voice to take priority over any other? Are you willing to let whatever He needs you to do take precedence over every other ambition? Are you willing to have your will swallowed up in His?
President Russell M. Nelson, "Let God Prevail", General Conference, October 2020
What's interesting in this quote by President Nelson is the fact that he asks if we are "willing". He doesn't ask if we WILL let God but rather if our hearts desire it.
Many times we get distracted, I know I do. Many times we are tired, and lack the motivation. Many times Satan's voice is louder so we can't hear God. He likes to shout loud. Heavenly Father is still and quiet. We just need to be willing to hear God and let Him be the priority in our lives, even though execution isn't where we would like it to be.
Execution will come. It's like the spiritual exercise I did a thought on yesterday, we may be very weak starting out, but the more we exercise, the stronger we become. Until one day, we do not listen to the adversary at all and only hear our Heavenly Father.
So, we don't need to be discouraged because we keep listening to the adversary. We don't need to feel upset or depressed because we fall down when trying to walk or we can't lift the weight that we would like to now. All we need is to want to. The strength will come.
