February 26, 2021 - I love to see the temple

Where we make sacred covenants with God—the temple—is temporarily closed. Where we keep covenants with God—the home—is open! We have an opportunity at home to study and ponder on the exceptional beauty of temple covenants.

Jeremy R. Jaggi, "Let Patience Have Her Perfect Work, and Count It All Joy!", General Conference, October 2020

I'm not sure exactly what each covenant that I make in the temple means to me and my life. I know what they are, but do I know exactly how to keep them, to do my part? And, do I know what blessings are in store for me when I do?

For the month of March, our stake president sent out an email for us to focus on the temple and the covenants we make there. As part of his email, he forwarded a couple of cards; one with a list of General Conference talks to read or listen to everyday of the month, and the other, a card that recommends exactly where and how to keep focus each week of the month.

In an effort to better understand my plan in this life in regards to sacred covenants that I make with Heavenly Father, I will spend the month listening, studying, pondering and praying specifically about the temple and why they are on earth in the first place. What is the purpose of temples? And why do I need to go? And why can't just anyone go?
