December 8, 2021 - Tied Down

We learn that in our world of distractions, complexities and temptations, where we have influences pulling us in every direction, we take responsibility for the person we want to become. Desiring to be a lifelong disciple Jesus Christ is very important to each of us, and to chart our course we make time for the Lord each and every day.

Elder Neil L. Andersen, Weekly Devotional at BYU, December 7, 2021

I'm reminded of Sister Becky Craven's address in 2019 entitled" Careful versus Casual". I feel I am too casual too often in my life when it comes to my eternal welfare. I need to work on that. I need to take control of the person I need to become.

I have grand desires and intentions but I sometimes fail to execute. That's my constant struggle. Fatigue, lack of motivation, and Satan himself keep me from doing what I want and know I should be doing.

With this condition I find myself strapped with daily, it's difficult for me to find the energy and motivation to do certain things. I pray for the strength, mentally and physically, to go beyond my mortal weaknesses and just be better.

It's not easy. However, I absolutely know that if I am side by side with my Brother, He can give me the strength needed, the energy needed, and the motivation needed. I just need to make sure I'm on His side.
