We are neither abandoned nor forgotten. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ cherish us and are rooting for us, and They are with us at every turn to help us return home. Even in the darkest of times, Christ’s light can always shine, reminding us of our divine heritage and helping us move forward on the covenant path.
Jacob Bahr, "Discovering How Deeply God Knows Me", Liahona, December 2021
It's difficult for me to fathom just how well Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me as an individual son and brother. I see my relationship with them as a long distance one. One where I can call my Father up once-twice-three times a day. But...to Them, they see my relationship as a companionship where They are with me 24 hours per day. The only thing is, I'm the one who turns to talk with Them once-twice a day, and the rest of the time I just ignore Them. That is how I treat Them in this companionship. How sad!
Yet, They remain with me constantly despite my ignoring Them.
So, when on those days that I feel alone, it is I who have secluded myself away from Them. They have not abandoned me at all. They are there waiting patiently for me to come out from my little hole. I need to think of it in those circumstances.
It is I who need to "unseclude" myself and quit hiding from Them.
