From the beginning of history there have been circumstances similar to [this COVID-19 pandemic]. Somehow they got through them, and we are going to get through this one.
The steps that are being taken are wise and temporary. We are asking every day, ‘What are we going to do, when are we going to do it, and how are we going to do it?’ We are being led by revelation a step at a time. We have not been in this situation before, at least not in my ministry. Do we see light at the end of the tunnel? Absolutely!
President M. Russell Ballard, "The World Will Win the War on COVID-19", Church News, April 2020
It's definitely comforting to know that the Lord is in complete control of this church and this world. Here it is already December and we never thought we'd still be dealing with this virus. It's been going on for over a year now, and since March when it really started disrupting our lives.
When this eventually passes, life will never be the same. As long as there's Internet, companies and schools have learned to provide remote services where possible. Some companies have thrived during this and some have gone belly up.
Masks and coverings will become a part of the attire we use, our "outfits". Like shoes, they'll be matching the ensemble we wear. Social distancing will be the norm for many years now. Hands will be washed more frequently. Stores will sanitize more frequently. Those latter two statements should've been happening more in the first place.
Point is, we are learning lessons through all of this, individually and as a society. We are preparing ourselves spiritually and temporally, for even greater chaos in the future I might add. We must be prepared. We must listen to the still, small voice. We must not get complacent. Stay close to each other (emotionally). Serve others that need help. Love everyone. Love Heavenly Father and stay close to Him. The Bridegroom is on His way (don't know how long He'll be though). Let's keep replenishing our oil.
