We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask what is our policy? I will say: It is to wage war, by sea, land, and air, with all our might and with all our strength that God can give us. . . . That is our policy. You ask, What is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory—victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror; victory, however long and hard the road may be.
Winston Churchill, "Churchill: The Life Triumphant", American Heritage, 1965

Of course Churchill uttered these words as the evil Nazi regime was trying to enforce their dominance, but they are especially poignant to the war in which we find ourselves today....the spiritual war of good and evil.
I've been rather down the last couple of days, feeling spiritually and mentally fatigued and weak, and then I came across the story of Winston Churchill and my motivation strengthened. I've always known who he was, of course, but I never bothered to understand why he was where he was nor how he got there. He was essentially thrust into the British Prime Minister position after the previous one resigned at the beginning of World War II.
And what he did in that position during the war is astounding.
I take courage reading his words.
As you read this, we are in the midst of a very real war. Not a war fought on a different continent, half a world away. But a war in our very backyards. A war that will last our entire lives, at least until the Millennium. There is no reprieve. There is no rest. There is only good vs evil. There is only Christ vs Lucifer.
What is our aim?.... Victory! Victory in Christ. Victory, however long and hard the road may be. Do not give up!!
