One of the main thrusts of the Communist drive in America today is through the so-called civil rights movement. Now there is nothing wrong with civil rights – it’s what is being done in the name of civil rights that is shocking.
I warn you, unless we wake up soon and do something about the Conspiracy the Communist-inspired civil rights riots of the past will pale into insignificance compared to the bloodshed and destruction that lie ahead in the near future.
President David P. McKay said that "I believe that only through a truly educated citizenry can the ideals that inspired the Founding Fathers of our nation be preserved and perpetuated."
And then President McKay said that one of the “four fundamental elements in such an education” was the “open and forcible teaching of the facts regarding communism as an enemy to God and to individual freedom.

This talk was given some 50+ years ago and we know we are ever closer now to the Second Coming so this is vitally more important now than ever before. I don't know how society was back then but I know it isn't good now.
President Benson talked about the importance of not just living and learning the gospel but also about living and learning the Constitution, especially if Elders of the church are to save it by a thread. He said that it wasn't enough to just live the gospel in our own little bubble (paraphrasing) but we need to know what's happening now in society around us and do something about it. He said not defending the Constitution and freedom was like following the gospel but not getting baptized. Gospel and freedom go hand in hand in God's Plan of Salvation.
He also talked about, when he was Secretary of Agriculture, and sitting down with Nikita Khruschev, who wanted to know more about American agriculture... Khruschev said that President Benson's grandchildren would eventually live under communist rule... President Benson said...
After assuring him that I expected to do all in my power to assure that his, and all other grandchildren, would live under freedom, he arrogantly declared, in substance:
You Americans are so gullible. No you won’t accept Communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you’ll finally wake up and you find you already have Communism. We won’t have to fight you. We’ll so weaken your economy until you fall like over-ripe fruit into our hands.
Does that sound like that is exactly what's happening today? So, let us wake up and learn about the Constitution so we can educate others and wake them up too. There is a reason this land is choice above all others. Let us raise up the "Title of Liberty" as did Captain Moroni in his day. We can't afford to be complacent any longer. (don't mean to assume complancy)
