We bear testimony, as His duly ordained Apostles—that Jesus is the Living Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son.
The First Presidency, "The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles"
Jesus Christ, the only person born to a mortal mother and immortal Father, was the only person capable, both in ability and power, to execute the most transcendent, the most beneficial, the most meaningful, even the most important sacrifice of all of humankind history, of this world, and of all worlds created.
Without Him performing this sacrifice, His Atonement, we would, in no way or means, be able to overcome physical and spiritual death. We could only, therefore, be subject to the devil.
It is impossible to fathom the importance, the greatness and magnitude, even the necessity of such an event while in this life, on this side of the veil.
Do we sufficiently appreciate His sacrifice for us? For me and for you personally? How can we? We don't even understand anything beyond this earth and certainly not even all of this world itself. We are limited to a small section on earth, not even knowing close to everything about this planet's bubble, let alone the immensity of space and all of the other "earths" out there.
We can't understand the full meaning of "infinite". We will always put a limit on anything and everything. Our minds can only see the world through a finite lens. At some point we will understand. We won't need to walk by faith any longer. But....will it then be too late to do anything about it?
