April 30, 2021 - Keep Swimming

Faithfulness is not foolishness or fanaticism. Rather, it is trusting and placing our confidence in Jesus Christ as our Savior, on His name, and in His promises. As we 'press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men,' we are blessed with an eternal perspective and vision that stretches far beyond our limited mortal capacity. We will be enabled to 'gather together, and stand in holy places' and 'be not moved, until the day of the Lord come.'

Elder David A. Bednar, "We Will Prove Them Herewith", General Conference, October 2020

We live in a time where a decision needs to be made. As Elder Holland says, we cannot just float and tread water. The current will take us somewhere whether we want to go that direction or not.

Even if we can barely swim against the current, we are still going against it. If all we can do is believe in Christ, as I mentioned yesterday, that belief will turn into something stronger. That tiny seed will someday turn into a great oak tree.

We just need to hold onto that belief in Christ. He will grow it for us, as long as we want to grow it. As long as we want to swim against the current, Christ will not pull us, but He will push from behind.

That is VERY comforting to me. All I need to do is try. All I need to do is trust Him. The retmst will fall into place.
