This talk, right at the end of conference, really struck a chord in me. It's not about doing the minimum required or living by the letter of the law, giving only 10% of ourselves. It's about offering your entire heart and soul to God.... 100%.
Elder Uchtdorf talked about keeping a bicycle upright and keeping a huge chuck of metal flying through the air. What is needed to do this? FORWARD MOVEMENT.
Moving forward allows a bicycle to stay balanced and upright. Ever try to stay upright on a bike when your not pedaling or moving? Likewise, moving forward creates lift from air flow that allows a plane to stay in the air. Again, moving forward allows the air to flow strong enough to create that lift, otherwise it would plummet to the ground.
Spiritually, we MUST move forward and create, what President Nelson termed, "positive spiritual momentum" in order to stay upright and balanced. And we MUST move forward to allow Christ to lift us to a higher plane.
