“Praise to the man who communed with Jehova…millions shall know Brother Joseph again.” – Hymn 27
“Technology and recent historical publications have made it easier than ever for people to know Brother Joseph. A vast trove of information is available in the Joseph Smith Papers volumes and www.josephsmithpapers.org website. “Saints, Volume 1” narrates Joseph’s life and the Restoration of the gospel like never before. Further materials recently produced by the Church make Joseph even more accessible, including “Revelations in Context: The Stories behind the Sections of the Doctrine and Covenants,” Church History Topics, the various accounts of the First Vision, short videos and podcasts.”
Elder LeGrand R. Curtis, Jr., ‘Millions shall know Brother Joseph’: Elder LeGrand R. Curtis Jr. explains how, April 3, 2020
We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to listen to the Lord’s anointed servants this weekend in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Joseph Smith’s First Vision. It will be a special conference, especially during this time of chaos and confusion in the world.
How many of us truly know Brother Joseph? I mean really know him. And not just because he’s been a part of our upbringing in that we are familiar with him. Do we have a testimony for ourselves that the Lord called him to a great work….Restoring Heavenly Father’s gospel and it’s truths once again on the earth. And we, as members, have that truth to see us through times like these. Do we know the history of this church? I know that I need to dive deeper into it.
I will spend some time this evening strengthening my testimony of that man and what he did so that I could have the truth. That is a tremendous, magnificent blessing that I often take for granted.
