April 29, 2022 - Spiritual Mountains

Let me suggest that holding fast to the word of God entails (1) remembering, honoring, and strengthening the personal connection we have with the Savior and His Father through the covenants and ordinances of the restored gospel and (2) prayerfully, earnestly, and consistently using the holy scriptures and the teachings of living prophets and apostles as sure sources of revealed truth. As we are bound and “hold fast” to the Lord and are transformed by living His doctrine, I promise that individually and collectively we will be blessed to 'stand in holy places, and shall not be moved.'

Elder David A. Bednar, "But We Heeded Them Not", General Conference, April 2022

I am finding it difficult to find motivation for many things. Therefore, I need to double down and trust that I will gain the motivation needed as I hold fast to the Word of God (Christ) and the word of God (scripture and through modern day servants).

I'm realizing through experience that faith is not just a principle of action, not just a principle of power, but it is also trusting God who is giving us promises of blessings....if we just do what He says.

20 There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated—

21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated. - D&C 130:20-21

As I learn that Christ coming to earth, and what He did while here, are not just stories from long ago, as well as promised blessings in the scriptures are not just words in a book.... to the degree that I learn this, the doors of heaven will open wider and wider, giving me access to power that I could never have imagined. Power to move mountains. Not just physical mountains, but mountains of obstacles in my way.
