To any who may be struggling to see that light and find that hope, I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve. Christ comes to you in His “more excellent ministry” with a future of “better promises.” He is your “high priest of good things to come.
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, "An High Priest of Good Things to Come", General Conference, October 1999
Today I've been thinking a lot about testimony, about holding on, about enduring.
We live in a time of immense doubt and questioning. To me, the gospel of Jesus Christ is absolutely true, there is no doubt or, question there. His church is the only true church on the face of this earth. I know this. It is as real to me as the air I breathe.
However, we all know that Christ's church is full of imperfect people. People who mean well. People who are trying, the same as we are, to do the best they can. Sometimes they fail though, like we all do.
But what I do know is that Christ is making those decisions that affect the entire church. I don't have to know why He is making them, I just need to trust Him as He does.
So, all I can do is hold onto those things that I know are good and right.
