April 22, 2020 – An Apostolic Blessing

“During this time of tension and uncertainty, and invoking the authority vested in me, I would like to confer upon you an apostolic blessing.

I bless you with peace and increasing faith in the Lord (see John 14:27).

I bless you with a desire to repent and become a little more like Him each day (see 3 Nephi 27:27).

I bless you to know that the Prophet Joseph Smith is the prophet of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness.

Should there be illness among you or your loved ones, I leave a blessing of healing, consistent with the will of the Lord.”

  1. President Russell M. Nelson,” Go Forward In Faith”, General Conference, April 2020

It’s one thing to listen to our prophet today, but it’s another thing altogether to hear the voice of the Lord when President Nelson speaks. Do we Hear Him?

It’s interesting to note here that President Nelson, even the Lord Himself, chose these 4 things to bless us with. Why these 4?

The Lord is blessing us with peace. That one is understandable given our circumstances and how many are fearful and worried. There’s a lot of commotion around us. Focus on controlling what you can control.

He is blessing us with the desire to change. Notice He said desire. The willingness and want to be better. If we want to be better, and strive to be better, then, little by little, we will be better.

He is also blessing us with a testimony of Joseph Smith. If we know Joseph was a prophet of God….then the Book of Mormon is the word of God. And then this Church, that Joseph restored, is true.

Lastly, healing. He leaves a blessing of healing. Notice, again, He doesn’t specify that the illness we may be suffering from be physical. We can be spiritually sick and need a Master Healer too. He also doesn’t say immediately, but according to God’s will and timing.
